TYRE DEALERS AND FITMENT ASSOCIATION

WHO IS THE TDAFA

The TDAFA is one of 15 constituent associations of the Retail Motor Industry (RMI). The RMI, having reached its milestone centenary in 2008, is an organisation collectively representing some 8000 members via 6 regional offices and approximately 100 professional staff. The RMI is strategically placed at the forefront for all issues relevant to motoring and in most cases the first point of call. The RMI has now employed the services of 18 Thetani field consultants, in an endeavour to deliver on individual member visits at least twice per annum, together with the added potential of new membership sign on.

The TDAFA has also taken a proactive approach to align itself at the forefront of all issues relevant to tyres and the fitment industry. We are now strategically positioned as an intermediary between government, the consumer and our members. Today we are recognised by government and industry leaders as a legitimate representative of the industry. The TDAFA aims to build a better trading environment for its members by creating a unified and competitive playing field for all.

First Auto (Pty) Ltd. has been awarded the State's National/Provincial Fleets Repair & Maintenance Contract RT46/2009CV. In order for the State to ensure maximum quality of service, they have placed specific requirements in the tender documents, one such requirement being that all merchants providing a service to the State must be an approved merchant based on certain minimum standards set by the state, and are members of the RETAIL MOTOR INDUSTRY.

“REMEMBER, WE HAVE A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY TO MANAGE OUR INDUSTRY”

TDAFA draws your attention to refrain from conducting business with unscrupulous hawkers trading on the roadside as these hawkers in the main sell badly worn passenger tyres which have been illegally re-grooved to give an appearance of sufficient tread depth whereas, re-grooving cuts into the carcass of a passenger tyre converting it into a death trap, which practice is illegal.
